Dear Makani, I don’t think I have the words to describe how special you are, how amazing you are, how beautiful you are. I’ve seen you grow, change, blossom, face the rain alone, face storms alone, and still bloom beautifully through every storm. I’ve seen you at your worse, there’s been times I have loved you far less than I should have because I didn’t think you deserved to be loved fully for what you had done to people, for the pain you caused people, I thought putting you through grimy situations was your karma, I realized I was just harming you, hurting you, scarring you for life, disrespecting you, and I have never been more sorry, more genuinely and truly sorry for all I have put you through.
